Michał Drozd: All This Groove
exhibition
“All This Groove” is a photography exhibition where you can meet the greatest blues stars. Michał Drozd’s photographs, taken during the 20th edition of the Chicago Blues Festival in 2003, and presented as part of this exhibition, are a tribute to the still living blues energy that captivates next generations of music fans.
Michał Drozd born in 1961. In 1985, he obtained professional qualifications and the title of journeyman as a photographer.
Initially, he was a laboratory technician in a photo studio, later a photojournalist and studio photographer, and cooperated with advertising agencies. He has had over 120 group and 60 individual exhibitions. His black and white photos are sophisticated art, full of ambiguity and unusual shots of the human body, because humans are a frequent subject of the artist’s works.
Initiator and founder of the informal group Documentalni, with which he has been associated since 2017. Photos of blues musicians by Michał can be found on chiblues.com, a website devoted to the history of the legendary blues festival in Chicago run by the outstanding photographer Paul Natkin.
