Wallace Lester’s photo exhibition
Born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised all over the United States of America, Wallace Lester started making photographs when he was ten years old during a family trip to New Orleans and the Mississippi Gulf Coast. Wallace studied photography in high school, at Skidmore College and then at the University of California at Santa Cruz. The last twenty years have found him living in the South, first in New Orleans and then due to Hurricane Katrina, the North Mississippi Hill Country.
His images are taken in his travels working as a private investigator and when on tour as a drummer (he performed, among others, at last year’s Autumn with Blues with Como Mamas). Wallace documents the immediate environment of wherever he finds himself. Wallace currently resides in Inglewood, Tennessee.
